About New Pyjamas

Hi!

Welcome to New Pyjamas!

This is my journey of Adoption. I have always wanted to be a Mum and thought it would be through the traditional way and order - you know, find a guy, get married, have children, adopt a few more and live happily ever after. Well, that never happened quite in that order. It has been a long and bumpy journey, with all its' twists and turns. I have survived the tale and here I am. Not the fairy tale I imagined. There have been lots of dragons along the way. Some friendlier than others, it has to be said.

I, was adopted as a baby - perhaps against the odds - as a premature baby to a Single Mum, who gave me up for adoption as her choice. I have always known that I was adopted and always thought that I would adopt too. However, this journey  to adopt has been a very different order to the fairytale I wrote. I did marry but it ended devastatingly, at the time we had always said we would start a family. I have since remained single, more perhaps through circumstance than choice.

Here I am, blogging at New Pyjamas. Adoption full circle. New Mummy, as an Older Single Mum to a lively, and somewhat traumatised from her past, delightful and gorgeous little girl. She asked for New Pyjamas from her New Mummy, which was what I gave her when we first met. Here at New Pyjamas, she is known as PJ. I am therefore her New Pyjama Mummy. I am often referred to by her as her New Mummy. We now live together as a family with our long suffering cat, who we can call Smudge. Now, he has a tail or two to share!

Thanks for stopping by and you are welcome to join us in our journey.
It's a bumpy ride!
